Art & Soul – Art-Based Support Group
Join Bloom and United for Waukesha Resiliency Center for Art & Soul, a fiber art-focused, parade support group. Fiber art can offer therapeutic benefit as we explore texture and connection to our senses with materials such as fabric, yarn, string, ribbon, wool, and felt. Art Therapy connects and empowers, regardless of age, culture, race or religion. It can lead to positive physiological changes such as lowered blood pressure, heart rate and relaxed muscle tension. In addition, Art Therapy can improve mood and ability to cope, problem-solve and provide a sense of accomplishment. The group will meet on Tuesdays from 5-7 pm at UWRC. Materials will be provided. These sessions are for adults 18+ years of age affected by the 2021 Waukesha Christmas Parade.
