Resilient Yoga for City of Waukesha Employees

Yoga Therapy

A trauma-informed approach to yoga uses intentional language and movement to make practice safer and more accessible. Certified yoga therapists receive extra training to recognize and address potential trauma triggers beyond standard certification. Trauma can change how we interact with the world, causing us to relive the past, disconnect from our bodies, or feel hyper alert about the future. While these adaptations help us survive, they can make it hard to live in the present. In this class, you will be guided through gentle yoga poses to strengthen your body, focus on your breath, and build energy.

This program will be held from 8:45 to 10:00 a.m. on September 3, 10, and 17 in the Spirit Mind Body Room at the Waukesha YMCA. Guest waivers must be completed by August 24, and a link to the waiver is provided in the registration form.
